Agencies bringing in tourists to receive fuel support
Fuel support, worth $6,000 per plane, provided to grade A tourism agencies has been extended to include Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul and Erzurum Airport.
With a legislative amendment, published on the Official Gazette, the two were added to the list of the airports where grade A tourism agencies could bring in tourists to be eligible for fuel support.
According to the amended law, grade A tourism agencies that brought in tourists between Jan. 1, 2017 and Dec. 31, 2017 will earn $6,000 worth of fuel support.
The backing would be valid for scheduled and chartered flights to Antalya Airport, Alanya's Gazipaşa Airport, Muğla's Dalaman Airport, Muğla's Milas-Bodrum Airport, İzmir's Adnan Menderes Airport, Kütahya's Zafer Airport, Trabzon Airport, Denizli's Çardak Airport, Isparta's Süleyman Demirel Airport, Eskişehir's Hasan Polatkan Airport, Ordu's Giresun Airport, Samsun's Çarşamba Airport and Erzurum Airport.
The support will also be provided to the tourism agencies that will carry tourists in charter flights to Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
Last year, the mentioned support was available at only six airports to preserve international competitiveness in the tourism sector. With the latest regulation, however, 12 airports can now benefit from the subsidy throughout the entirety of 2017.
