EU Minister Çelik to host ambassadors of EU states

Turkey's EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik will be hosting the ambassadors of EU member states in Turkey's southern province of Adana between Dec. 8-10, to discuss the recent developments and relations between the two sides, ministry sources said on Wednesday.According to the sources, Çelik will hold a working dinner for the ambassadors, where the Adana governor, mayors, as well as academics and business representatives are also expected to attend. The ambassadors of EU member states will start their day in Adana by visiting the governorate, where they will hold a moment of silence to commemorate the victims of the Nov. 24 terror attack. The European Parliament adopted a temporary motion in late November, urging member-states to freeze Turkey's accession to the bloc. Although nonbinding and despite the fact EU states are for the most part, against halting the drawn-out accession process, the vote threatens to deepen the rift between Ankara and the EU, nonetheless.
