Hungarian PM: Europe's security begins at Turkish border

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that the security of Europe as well as Hungary depends strongly on Turkey, in a statement he gave to the MTV (Magyar Televízió), Hungary's nationwide public television, regarding the One Belt One Road summit that recently took place in Beijing, China.

Stating that they had met with President Erdoğan at the summit, Ordan said that it is beneficial for his country's national security to have a good relationship with Turkey.

"We always respect President Erdoğan. Europe's and Hungary's security strongly depends on Turkey since today Turkey is a stable country and able to prevent illegal migration. The perfection of the Turkish-Hungarian relationship is an element of Hungary's national security," he said.

During the One Belt One Road summit, Orban was one of the leaders received by Erdoğan, and their meeting lasted 40 minutes. It is reported that Erdoğan invited the Hungarian leader to make an official visit to Turkey.

The summit, which brought together world leaders, emphasized the necessity for global cooperation and facilitated many agreements for boosting economic ties. The talks indicated that the modern Silk Road will seal the future of trade by linking Asia, Europe, Africa and even South Africa.
