Turkish businessman appointed as advisor to the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Honorary Consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Bursa-Turkey and General Manager of Çilek Company, Muzaffer Çilek who is also Founder and the President of the BİGMEV Foundation (Center for the Development of Relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina) has appointed as an advisor to the Bosniak Member of Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegovic. Muzaffer Çilek whose family has Bosniak origin is a businessman, CEO of Çilek Company, has founded BİGMEV in 2010 in order to establishment and vitalization of the historical relations between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina by maintaining established links and enhancing economical relations and trade.Muzaffer Çilek, born in Bursa in 1960, is the co-founder and CEO of the company, which has contributed to the national economy for twenty years. As Çilek A.Ş. is operating 444 outlets scattered over 66 countries in 5 continents with 2,000 employees, alongside its strong technological foundations, the business is fast approaching being a world-class brand.In 2009, Muzaffer Çilek began to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By investing in agriculture, construction, energy, and tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Çilek aimed to increase employment and the prosperity of the country, as well as countless commercial and social activities.Furthermore, in 2010 Muzaffer Çilek established the BİGMEV foundation (Development center of cultural, economic and scientific relations between countries associated with Bosnia and Herzegovina)Muzaffer Çilek was appointed as the Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Council of Ministers in 2010.

In 2013, he was appointed as a member of The Advisory Board for Turkish Citizens and Relatives Abroad within the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry for Turks Abroad Committee.
