In a move to encourage more young French to get involved in politics, France's Minister for Youth, Patrick Kanner considers a series of proposals that limit the staying power of French politicians through setting an upper age cap of 70, in a government-sponsored report on published Monday. The proposal introduces a limit to elected parliamentarians and Senators to run for maximum three terms as well as lowering the voting age to 16. The new proposal would not get down well in the Senate where the majority of French senators are over 70 and the average age is 61.
