Video of bear fed with firecrackers in Russia shows cruelty against animals

A video showing a polar bear, which is among endangered animal species, bleeding and crawling in pain after it was deliberately fed firecrackers in Russia has caused public outrage around the world. The incident happened on Wrangel Island in Russia's far east in November according to RT news.Alexander Gruzdev, the director of the nature reserve on the island, said that he was hopeful that the bear survived the incident."The bear survived ... there was not so much blood," he told Gazeta.ru.He said that he believed the bear's eyes were also unharmed as it was able to flee.Experts claim that a bear would not eat a flare due to its high intellect, and say it must have been hidden in something it ate.If found, the perpetrators may face a penalty of up to seven years in prison for killing an animal that is in danger of extinction.
