One woman was reported dead and seven others injured after a fire in a Jewish old people's center in the western German city of Frankfurt, fire officials reported on Friday.

A spokesman said there were no details on how or when the fire started. Nor was there more information about the victims.

A police spokeswoman said authorities were seeking leads about how the fire started. First estimates place the damages at 100,000 euros (106,240 dollars).
