Berlin-bound train in Poland evacuated over bomb threat

Police in Poland said they had evacuated passengers from a train traveling from Warsaw to Berlin on Wednesday evening after receiving a bomb threat.

The state news agency reported that the train was stopped in the Mogilno station in western Poland on Wednesday evening.

"We've evacuated several hundred people from the train," Mogilno police spokeswoman Magdalena Pollack told AFP.

"A bomb squad is checking whether this is a false alarm," she added.

Unlike several countries in Western Europe, Poland has no recent history of terrorism.Train passengers and residents of nearby buildings were evacuated so bomb experts could check the area.
