A suspicious item has been found at the Berlin-Schönefeld Airport in Germany's capital city.

The terminal D of the airport was evacuated and cleared, German police said Thursday on Twitter.

Special forces and bomb disposal teams arrived on site.

The airport also said on its official Twitter account that police investigation was continuing, adding that there could be delays for planned flights.
