A special exhibition will display a selection of patterns that Zeki Müren - a legendary Turkish singer who also graduated at the top of his class from Istanbul Fine Arts Academy - that were drawn 60 years ago along with fabric sketches and rugs that were made using these patterns. Co-organized by Yapı Kredi Cultural Activities Arts and Publishing Inc. and the Kadıköy Municipality, "I Used to Adore Purple" by the Zeki Müren Exhibition will be on display from Nov. 19 to Dec. 19 at the Caddebostan Culture Center (CKM) Art Gallery in Kadıköy. According to the statement released by the CKM, the exhibition will showcase patterns that were drawn by Müren and rugs based on his patterns. He named his patterns "I used to adore purple before I met you," "I am offended by the quails," "Loyalty of the spider," "Your betrayal is like a lightening," "Where did you run away?" and "The suffering of Kezban." He held an exhibition composed of his patterns and various works in Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir in 1965. In 1974, he brought these patterns to the stages of music halls.
