Born in Erzurum's İspir district in 1972, Korkmaz received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Painting Education at Uludağ University in 1992 and his master's degree from the Social Sciences Institute of the same university in 1997. Since 1996, he has worked as an academic at Uludağ University's Painting Department. He also continues his art in his workshop. So far, the artist has held eight solo exhibitions and participated in 15 international and 45 national group exhibitions.
