Photography exhibition moves from the physical to digital world

ISTANBUL'74 Karaköy is hosting Arslan Sükan's solo exhibition "While You Are Surfing" until May 24. The artist's latest photos study the conscious and unconscious gestures between the physical and digital worlds. Sükan's display is composed of the digital surfaces (smartphones) and the manipulated images that are formed through our personal gestures while we are using touchscreen devices. He isolates and focuses on the fingerprints on the screens as well as the dust and the cracks caused by damage. Sükan graduated from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Bilkent University, and continued his education at the School of Visual Arts in New York studying photography. So far, his works have been exhibited at the Maxxi Museum in Rome, Maison des Metallos in Paris, 511 in New York and the Kappatos Gallery in Athens. When: Until May 24 Where: ISTANBUL'74, Karaköy
