The Drawing Center, a museum in Manhattan's Soho district, delves into the depths of feminism with multimedia artist İnci Eviner's installation "Runaway Girls," remaining on view until the end of June. She examines the dreams, stories and fears of girls who have chosen to run away or were forced to leave their homes. "Eviner uses repetitive, hypnotically shifting scenes to explore contemporary feminism at the crossroads of the East and West, as well as broader historical narratives and notions of the body and performance," says the museum. Her video installation introduces fragmented scenes featuring gender-ambiguous figures whose faces are hidden with drawings. Eviner's other work has been displayed at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary and Palais des Beaux-Arts, Lille.
