Pera Films continues to present a selection of films as a part of "From the Tsars to the Stars: Russian Fantastic Cinema" program, which includes rare examples from the sci-fi genre of Soviet and Russian cinema. The program continues with the screening of Alexsey Fedorchenko's "First on the Moon," starring Aleksey Anisimov, Viktoriya Ilyinskaya and Viktor Kotov. As Fedorchenko's striking film reveals, Soviet cosmonaut and pilot Ivan Kharlamov allegedly traveled to the moon in 1938 and took his experimental, top-secret spacecraft to Chile, from where he undertook an arduous journey across the Pacific, through China and Mongolia to the Soviet Union.
