Famous trumpeter Chris Botti to perform in Istanbul


World-renowned jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, who shared the stage with the legendary Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich at a very young age, will play for Istanbulites on Jan. 16 at Zorlu Performing Arts Center. Botti is known for his skills in classical jazz and blending jazz music with pop thanks to his close relationship with British pop legend Sting. The artist, who manages to reflect his Italian roots in his albums, made a name for himself as the "Grammy Hunter" over the years. The American musician won his latest Grammy for "Best Instrumental Pop" in 2013 with his album "Impression" and continues to enlarge his fan base via 10 studio albums and live performances around the world. Botti began playing trumpet at the age of nine and started to take an interest in jazz. He combined his love for jazz and virtuosity. So far, the well-known trumpeter has shared the stage and recorded tracks with musicians who made history in the music industry, such as Sinatra, Rich, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Bette Midler, Joni Mitchell, Sting and Natalie Merchant.
