Brecht's 'The Threepenny Opera' continues run in Istanbul


One of the most important German poets, scriptwriters and stage directors of the 20th century Bertolt Brecht's unforgettable musical play "The Threepenny Opera" will be staged in Istanbul with the Berliner Ensemble and theater director Robert Wilson. Hosted by the Istanbul Culture and Arts Foundation (İKSV) and supported by the ENKA Foundation, the play will run on two consecutive nights at the Zorlu Performing Arts Center's Main Stage. "The Threepenny Opera" is an adventurous world of anti-heroes and is resonant with various truths of today's world. With Wilson as director Brecht's play turns into a 21th century masterpiece. "The Threepenny Opera," which holds an important place in the career of Bertolt Brecht, the founder of Berliner Ensemble, is a musical show, continuing to please audiences since it has been able to protect the contemporary elements of its plot.
