Organized in collaboration with nuDC and the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts' (İKSV) initiative Salon, Garanti Jazz Green: The Tree of Jazz, is commemorating jazz guitarists this year. On Saturday, İKSV Salon will host a special performance to commemorate legendary jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery. In 2011, the concert series brought Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone back to life with exclusive nights focusing on them. The event hailed Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and Antonio Carlos Jobim in 2012 and commemorated Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Duke Ellington in 2013 at İKSV Salon. In 2014, the concert series turned to the trumpet with pieces from Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong and Chet Baker, and then the saxophone with pieces from Charlie Parker, Stan Getz and John Coltrane in 2015. This year, it is time to celebrate jazz guitar and the concert series continues with the commemoration of Wes Montgomery.When: March 19Where: Salon İKSV
