Collective exhibit focuses on states of consciousness

Od'A-Ouvroir d'ART, the workshop, exhibition and conference hall at Istanbul Sainte Pulcherie High School hosts the group exhibition "Kaygan" (Slippery), featuring works by masters of Turkish painting such as Bubi, İsmet Doğan, Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu and Mehmet Kavukçu between Feb. 16 and March 22. Melik İskender, the curator of the exhibition, said the theme of the exhibition is "conscious" and further explained it as: "If consciousness is being aware of the outside world, everything assumes a meaning with the conscious. Free thinking does not mean freedom of mind. A person who does not come across anything or any action is immune to anything; he or she can stand in the same position for hours. In this case, the conscious is something that can be directed. As there will be no place for critical judgment where nothingness is invalid, everything is to be redeemed through the conscious."When: Feb. 16 to March 22Where: Od'A-Ouvroir d'Art
