Turkish jazz musician and producer Emin Fındıkoğlu and his quartet are set to give a breathtaking performance tomorrow at Orient Bar, located inside the Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah. Veteran musician Fındıkoğlu is one of Turkey's foremost producers when it comes to conducting wind instrument orchestras, as well as jazz music.Born in 1940, Fındıkoğlu finished high school in Istanbul and then enrolled at Berklee Jazz School in the U.S. He founded an orchestra on his return to Turkey; however, it was doomed to break up. He then founded a jazz school in Taksim with another veteran musician, Onno Tunç, in 1979 and partnered with Tunç for many years. He has encouraged the establishment of many jazz ensembles and collaborated with prominent artists throughout his career. Fındıkoğlu won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 Istanbul Jazz Festival. Tomorrow night, he leads his quartet in performing the touchstones of jazz history at the historic Orient Bar.
