The Mersin State Opera and Ballet (MDOB) will give a concert titled, "Touching Melodies" to commemorate the 100th birthday of Aydın Gün, who has made significant contributions to the development of opera and ballet in Turkey. According to a statement released by MDOB, the "Heart Touching Melodies" concert will be held at the Culture Center Stage at 8:00pm on Thursday, March 30, in memory of Aydın Gün's 100th birthday.The ensemble will be accompanied by the İzmir State Opera and Ballet and feature solo artist Soprano Sevinç Demirağ, the Mersin State Opera and Ballet along with artists Eda Boyacıoğlu on violoncello and Özlem Erden on piano. Renowned artist Aydin Gün launched the Istanbul International Music Festival in 1973 after establishing the Ankara Opera in 1949, the Istanbul City Opera in 1960 and the Opera Ballet General Directorate by introducing Law Number 1309.
