Istanbul Film Fest to screen ‘America Square'


The 36th Istanbul Film Festival will be screening "America Square," the fast-paced story of a tattoo artist, an ordinary racist and a Syrian refugee who cross paths.Winning the 2016 Thessaloniki FIPRESCI Award, the Honorable Mention (leading actor) and Honorable Mention Young Jury awards "America Square," follows a Greek nationalist whose world turns upside down when his favorite park in Athens becomes a popular place and a temporary residence of refugees.The refugees also get involved with the underworld of Greece in order to stay alive and travel to Europe.With vigorous visuality and striking narration is observing with a challenging view to "mass migration economy" where borders mean trade and time is always lacking.When: Today, 7:00 p.m.Where: Italian Culture Center
