Living Room to host 'Los Amigos de Herman'

One of Living Room's conceptual projects is being brought to life with the "Los Amigos de Herman" project to be staged throughout the season with emotionally sincere Latin performances that transcend world culture and unique rhthyms that have evolved over the past century. "Los Amigos de Herman" will include dances, songs and music specific to Latin culture.

Throughout the season, "Los Amigos de Herman" will perform songs by several Latin-American composers, including Consuelo Velazquez, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Osvaldo Farres, Alvaro Carrillo, Sergio Mendes, Miguel Matamoros, Maria Teresa Vera, Hugo Blanco, Rafael Hernandez, Manuel Jimenez Fernandez, Armando Manzanero and Violeta Parra, stunning audiences with performances of samba, salsa, rhumba, the cha cha, milonga, habanera, bolero, valse and numerous rhythms.

In addition to performing love songs, "Los Amigos de Herman" will also perform songs of peace, hope and the days of sorrow experienced in Latin America. Centuries of experience and wisdom handed down over generations by Native Americans will be combined with the polyphonic harmony of European classical music, multi-rhythmic African music and the extraordinary rhythms of Latin American music. As a result of these performances, audiences will have a chance to revive worldwide brotherhood and the shared commonalities that exceed cultural boundaries and transcend human differences. The music will live on to tell stories of natural beauty, love, passion, bravery, criticism, sorrow, regret, world views and social events.
