Jacky Terrasson to jazz up Istanbul

One of the golden boys of the Blue Note family, Jacky Terrason will offer a feast of classical jazz along with French jazz trumpeter Stephane Belmondo. 1993 winner of the Thelonious Monk Piano Competition, Terrason made his mark among jazz pianists thanks to his 20 or so albums. His friendship with Belmondo, who attracted attention by his cooperation with the American new age and jazz phenomenon Yusef Lateef, was crowned with an album titled "Mother," which was released in 2016.

They will present a feast of nostalgia at the French Palace Museum with their romantic, sincere and plain music along with a little spontaneous ballad, chansons and standard jazz. The opening of the night, on the other hand, will be conducted by a duo from Turkey. Contrabass player from Kerem Görsev's trio, Kağan Yıldız and pianist Can Çankaya, who were involved in various local jazz projects, will be on the stage with their brand-new duo project.
