Story of immigrant child workers on canvas


The Trump Art Gallery is currently hosting Şinasi Göktürkler's exhibition "Yersiz Yersizlik" ("unpleasant displacedness") until Oct. 6. The exhibition, the curator of which is Kenan Bahadır Derre, is about immigrant children and child workers that Şinasi Göktürkler has seen over the last two years. The artist introduces visitors to a different story with each image that he painted on canvas, cloth and paper.

Şinasi Göktürkler, who studied at the Combined Arts Program of the Art and Design Faculty at Yıldız Technical University, either doubles or takes to pieces the figures that he uses in his art to turn them into different things.
