‘La Bataille d'Eskandar' on Istanbul stage

The "La Bataille d'Eskandar" theater tells the story of a city and the struggle of a woman against the loneliness of the world. The theater is by Samuel Galleti, a French dramatist who has held many workshops in Istanbul in 2017 in cooperation with the French Culture Center and Galata Perform. Translated into Turkish by Reyhan Özdilek, "La Bataille d'Eskandar" will be performed for audiences as a stage reading with the participation of Deniz Celiloğlu, Evrim Doğan and Mark Levitas within the New Text New Theater Festival. A woman who is about to be evicted from her house imagines an earthquake. She is then able to construct a new future, together with her son, with the help of the chaos that will appear out of the earthquake.

The disaster becomes real now. Are dreams strong enough to replace reality? Everything turns upside down. Nature gets back all the rights of its own at Eskandar. A zoo is being abandoned and wild animals attack those who are not able to escape or don't want to leave.
