Curated by Elmgreen & Dragset, the 15th Istanbul Biennial brings forward the theme of a "good neighbor" with free events in which participants will cook, read and make music together through discussions, screenings and workshops along with exhibitions in six neighboring sites. Attorney and writer Rita Ender will make a presentation on cases concerning neighbors in Turkish courts in the Biennial Public Program, which is coordinated by artist Zeyno Pekünlü. Choreographer and contemporary dance artist Tuğçe Tuna will present her "Body Drops Dance Performance" at Küçük Mustafa Hamam at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The 15th Istanbul Biennial can be visited for free at Galata Private Rum Primary School, Istanbul Modern, the Pera Museum, ARK Culture, Yoğunluk Artist Studio and Küçük Mustafa Hamam until Nov. 12.

Right to Being a Neighbor

Examining court cases, attorney and writer Rita Ender discusses the rights of being a neighbor that are determined by legal sources. Investigating neighbor cases that appeal to the Supreme Court, Ender looks closely at the responsibilities of people for their neighbors. In the conversation in which the definition of a good neighbor in law will be discussed, the participants will look to answer of the question of what court cases about neighbors can tell us. The language of the event is Turkish.

Body Drops Dance Performance

Choreographer and contemporary dancer Tuğçe Tuna participates in the biennial with her work "Body Drops," which she designed privately for the Küçük Mustafa Paşa Hamam. The artist performs with eight other dancers and focuses on kinesthetics, empathy, the accumulation of the body and invisible losses. Seeing the other body as the neighboring one, Tuna is the first choreographer and contemporary dancer to be invited to the Istanbul Biennial.
