Grand Bazaar welcomes fashion

If you still have not visited the Grand Bazaar, you are missing so many things. Thousands of different items from furs to antiques, from leather attire to jewelry are waiting for you in the Grand Bazaar, the oldest and biggest shopping mall in the world. I will make mention of the secrets of this gigantic bazaar built in 1461 boasting 4,000 stores, in another article. Today, I would like to tell you about one of the first events in the history of the bazaar. The Grand Bazaar hosted a fashion show for the first time in its history last week. The first fashion show that took place in the 550-year history of the Grand Bazaar was produced by fashion designer Tuvana Büyükçınar Demir. The designer's first haute couture fashion show, "Golden Bazaar," was a visual feast in the strictest sense. I would like to compliment Tuvana Büyükçınar Demir, whose success filled us all with pride all around the world. I loved the emphasis of the golden color used in the clothes combining traditional and modern designs. The ambiance of the Grand Bazaar, ethnic music welcoming you in the cocktail area and the lighting was very successful for a first-ever event at the venue. I especially appreciated that there was no catwalk, and that the models were parading on the worn and historical paths of the Grand Bazaar. The designer, who works with great discipline, creativity and effort, definitely deserves our applause. As behind every great man, there is always a great woman, there is always a great man behind every great woman, and in her case, this man is her spouse, Selim Demir, who leads the "A46 Organization," the company that turned the Grand Bazaar into a mystical and mysterious place. Selim Demir is in the right business because of his working discipline, creativity and communication skills. I would like to congratulate A46 and the mayor of Fatih, Mustafa Demir, who played a central role in this magical event hosted by the Grand Bazaar. The vision and support for fashion and the work of the esteemed mayor deserve our applause.Every event is a work of artI have been observing A46 for a long time. Their creative works in Turkey have always been intriguing to me. A46 organizes numerous events such as weddings, company events and parties in a corporate manner. Unfortunately, many creative events in Turkey lose their edge due to their repetition or lose their meanings because of counterfeits. Even though there are many event-organizing companies in Turkey, I want to talk about A46 because of the "concept event approach" they have brought to Turkey, and their pioneering work to turn this into a business sector. They always compete with themselves to go beyond themselves. When they organize a wedding, it is possible that you may find yourself in Alice's Wonderland, or in a land of snow, all of which are beyond the limits of your imagination. When it comes to corporate events, I have personally witnessed their talent at finding the right performance teams and in decorating the venues. I congratulate Selim Demir in this regard and compliment him on the brilliant team at A46 for their perfection on numerous events by Tuvanam. If you visit the Grand Bazaar at other times, don't forget to go to Havuzlu (Pool) Restaurant. The name of the restaurant established in 1959 comes from the small fountain pool at the front. Being the oldest restaurant in Grand Bazaar, it is right at the Nuruosmaniye Gate. The interior design of the venue is very authentic. The walls are covered with old glazed tiles. At your entry to the restaurant, which has Ottoman delicacies on offer, you are welcomed by a parrot named Rıfkı. I recommend Abant Kebab and the fig dessert. The only defect in the venue is the lightning and the neon writing on the walls.Istanbul Fashion AcademyLast week I visited Seda Lafçı, who is the director of Istanbul Fashion Academy (IMA) at the Sadrazam Sait Pasha Mansion in Nişantaşı. The IMA took fashion design students in compliance with their curriculum on a zestful tour of London, where they also visited "Alexander Mcqueen's Savage Beauty Exhibition," the University of the Arts London/London College of Fashion and the workshop of Bora Aksu. They will go to Paris in July to visit the "Lanvin Exhibition" dedicated to Jeanne Lanvin and organized in cooperation with Alber Elbaz and the Dicle Kayek fashion show. Along with their overseas trips, their inter-provincial publicity events in İzmir continue at full steam. The last stop of the IMA after Adana and Bursa will be Ankara. The academy is accepting applications for the fall semester throughout the summer and also carries on with their "Aptitude Tests" and "Portfolio Assessment Days" while continuing intense preparations for the Graduation Exhibition to take place on June 25. What can I say? May it be easy for the IMA, which trains the future fashion designers of Turkey.
