London hosts the latest modest fashion collections at festival

The city of London, one of the four fashion capitals in the world, hosted the very first Modest Fashion Festival this weekend.

Bringing together world-renowned brands in modest fashion, the event was held in Mayfair, London.

The latest collections by Amal Al Raissi, Meryem Boussikouk, Bthania and Rishma took the stage and Somali-American model Halima Aden was one of the models to grace the runaway.

The mixture of high-end fashion and charity is central to Modest Fashion Festival's mission as it travels worldwide, connecting the rapidly growing global demographic of Muslim consumers with established and emerging contemporary luxury Modest Fashion brands. Over the next 18 months, the platform will be hosting events on an international scale across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with Dubai and Doha planned as the next stops.

Modest Fashion Festival is a unique and innovative international platform showcasing luxurious, contemporary Modest Fashion brands from across the world that was launched in London in October 2017. By hosting high-profile couture fashion events and experiences across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, this empowering platform sets out to breakdown stereotypes and pre-conceived notions about Muslim women. It champions the Modest dresser – elegantly dressed women who combine substance with style without compromising on their individuality or beliefs – providing them fresh and inspirational fashion ideas, as well as opportunities to engage leading designers and brands catering to their tastes.

There are about 3 million Muslims living in the U.K. and this number is expected to reach 5.5 million by 2030.
