Before the derby between Turkey's leading football teams Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe yesterday, Galatasaray's shares traded on the Borsa Istanbul had a better performance than Fenerbahçe's shares. While Galatasaray's shares increased by 16 percent within the last two weeks, Fenerbahçe's shares fell by 5.3 percent. However, when performance since New Year's Eve is considered, Fenerbahçe's share definitely outperformed Galatasaray's shares. News about Fenerbahçe signing a sponsorship deal for its sports gear pushed Fenerbahçe's shares by 35.92 percent in the first two weeks of February. Galatasaray followed Fenerbahçe with a 14.4 percent increase, while Beşiktaş's shares declined by 2.05 percent and Trabzon's shares by 22.43 percent.
