Foreign investor purchases raised BIST 100 in Oct


According to data released by the Istanbul stock exchange (Borsa Istanbul), foreign investors made $167.8 million of net purchases in October, putting an end to a sales period that lasted for three consecutive months. Considering the transactions that foreign investors have carried out on the stock market since the beginning of the year, they conducted $769 million worth of sales in October. The BIST 100 index gained a monthly value of 11 percent on the dollar basis in October in parallel with net sales carried out by foreign investors. Analysts say that throughout October investors made reactionary purchases in BIST 100. Foreign investors made net sales of a total of $944 million from July to September.
