The daughter of the Bosphorus

During the previous week I had the opportunity to visit one of the precious restaurants on the Bosphorus, Del Mare, and the 10-year-old location has been quite renewed. Located in Çengelköy, in an old building that used to accommodate elephants during Ottoman times, Del Mare hosts guests with the delicious taste of food today. Reflecting contemporary architecture, the restaurant promises relish and health. All of Del Mare's products are ecologically grown on 18 thousand square meters of the Del Mare farm in Balıkesir-Ayvalık, so everything is indeed homemade. The design of the building is elegant and is as simple as a fish restaurant could be. I congratulate architect Ali Türker for this simple work of design as the decoration does not wear you out and it does not get ahead of the food, especially the terrace, which is an appetizer itself with its gorgeous view. The presentation as well as the decoration in the entrance of the restaurant is adorned with objects that will make one feel is if they are at a fish restaurant. As for food, the mezzes stand out the most. The braised greens, which are prepared with sea beans, is indeed a wonder of taste engineering. Served in copper dishes, which can be heated up to 400 degrees, this delicious food accompanies long conversations on the table while still cooking. The sauce of the leaf calamari, which is prepared from squid ink and soy, is indeed distinctive. The crispy ravioli with shrimp is another different taste of the sea in this Turkish cuisine. As for the main course, shish lahos is as promising as the view of Del Mare. At the end of the meal, one must definitely try jugged and baked halvah with apples and sesame paste. Chef Mehmet Yorulmaz deserves applause for the flavors he invents and his distinctive presentation.Using the private boat of the restaurant, which departs from Kuruçeşme, you can reach Del Mare without getting stuck in Istanbul traffic. While enjoying the view of the Bosphorus and accompanied by a DJ performance, you can also benefit from the restaurants bar. Del Mare stands like a beautiful girl on the Bosphorus, enabling you to taste the best fish experience possible from the hands of professionals. I congratulate the manager, Volkan Karakaş and recommend you explore this great restaurant on the Anatolian side if you haven't already. A bite of styleIf you like to keep up with fashion and also enjoy learning new recipes, I have a blog to suggest that unites the two - Bite of Style. Different from other fashion or cooking blogs, this blog integrates the two subjects. The owner of the blog is Dominican Nastassia Çoşkunseven, who later married in Turkey and settled in Istanbul. Adding elegance to cooking, Nastassia prepares original recipes with great outfits. As beautiful as a model, this chef enters the kitchen as if she popped out of a fashion show.Apart from the recipes, she also explores the most delicious restaurants of Istanbul for you. She visits different places, tastes the food and shares her views with you. Of course, she never neglects sharing the latest trends of the city as well. If you also want to learn distinctive recipes and see examples of new trends I suggest you visit Nastassia Çoşkunseven's blog. You can check out biteofstyle.com for many local as well as international tastes served with the most stylish outfits. The most popular book of beachesEvery divorced couple has their own story and some are as intriguing as a movie. The story of Elif Kask is definitely one of these stories. It is not yet a movie, but the things Kask went through during her divorce in the United States is now in a book called "Boşanırken" (While Getting Divorced). Telling about her glamorous life in the U.S. and the unbelievable problems she experienced with her husband and her struggle with the American legal system as a woman, the book draws attention to one of the modern problems of our day at the same time. It tells powerful but single struggle of Kask and her children. The book, which I happen to see on the sun beds on the beach lately, seems to be very trendy, especially among women. The book of Elif Kask, who has also written detective novels before, is from Alfa publishing house. I believe the book will be an interesting experience both for women who are married and for women who are in a serious relationship.Top three restaurants of the week- Şamdan in Bodrum, Yalıkavak- Nezih Kebap in Rumelihisarı- Chef Mezze in KuruçeşmeTop three hotels of the week- Highlight Hotel in Bodrum, Yalıkavak- AC Hotel in Maçka- Manastır Hotel in AlaçatıTop three venues of the week- Desibel in Kuruçeşme- X Beach in Bodrum- Şairler Kahvesi in AkaretlerTop three people of the week- Ferit Baltacıoğlu, CEO of House Group- Çoşkun Turgut, photographer- Didem and Sinem Balık, Opera Twins
