Turkish Airlines named one of world's best for in-flight dining

In-flight dining can be more than just salad and sandwiches. Travel and Leisure, a travel magazine based in New York City, announced its "World's Best Awards Survey," asking readers to rank their favorite airlines, both domestic and international, on the quality of their in-flight food service.Turkish Airlines (THY) was ranked the third-best airline for in-flight food service. "Excellent experiences," reported one Travel and Leisure voter."If [Turkish Airlines were] a restaurant, I'd go there to eat." "The food isn't just delicious - It's pretty, too. Business Class passengers can sip tea from an embellished, Ottoman-style samovar. Thumbs up," the magazine's website reported. Singapore Airlines came in first in the international category, followed by Emirates. In the domestic airlines category, Virgin America, Hawaiian Airlines and JetBlue Airways were the top three. THY offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and cold meal options, depending on departure and flight times. The meal options are selected from Turkish and world cuisine. They also serve sandwiches and cake on long flights and cater to special meal requests.
