Valentine's Day plans are already on the agenda and a tempting option would be to treat your sweetheart with some chocolate. The historical Sirkeci train station will be hosting a four-day chocolate festival coinciding with Valentine's Day this year. From Feb. 11-14, the International Chocolate Festival will bring together local and foreign chocolate makers and companies, with each having a stand for tasting sessions. Whether you prefer white, bitter or classic milk chocolate, your taste buds will thank you.The festival is expected to host a large group of children from all over Turkey as they enjoy their favorite treat sponsored by Kızılay. The festival organized by MedyaDoktoru will have a number of sections set up for visitors to learn about chocolate making techniques, join workshops and participate in special events for families with children. The festival venue, surrounded by the scent of chocolate in the air, will, in addition to the chocolate tasting sessions, have guest chefs also making sculptures from chocolate. On the last day of the event, these sculptures will be shared and distributed to children.Other attractions include a runway show that will feature chocolate-inspired designs and an exhibition showing the history of chocolate production and shops in Istanbul. Guests will discover all they ever wanted to know about chocolate from the experts. With this year's festival themed "Love," it is planned to be an annual event in coming years.
