Professional and amateur pastry cooks will work their magic at the 3rd Cake Show in Istanbul on May 13-14.Organized by the Istanbul Professional Chefs' Association at the Sürmeli Hotel, the third edition of Turkey's cake show aims to attract pastry chefs from Turkey and internationally.While hosting representatives from the baking sector, the event will also welcome amateur chefs who love to bake pastries in their free time as a hobby.Hundreds of fantastic novelty cakes, wedding cakes and some of the most artistic sugary crafts created by international and local competitors will be on display throughout the festival.There will be a number of free demos including demos on the cake business, the science of baking cakes, baking tips, sugar crafting and more, all featuring 45-minute demonstrations on the hour.In addition to the displays, the festival will offer a range of opportunities for visitors to learn new techniques.Hands-on classes will offer guests the chance to learn new cake decorating techniques and participants will be able to take their creations home with them.The competitors will compete in 11 different categories according to age group and theme, including celebration cakes, sculpted novelty cakes, decorative exhibits (showpieces), collaboration, small decorative exhibits, floral displays, cupcakes, cookies, teenage baking, youth baking and small bites.Offering something for everyone from beginners to professionals, the cake show will surely satisfy visitors of all culinary backgrounds.
