Turkish cuisine to be exhibited in new museum

Istanbul is home to a variety of museums with themes that range from the traditional to out-of-the-box. Now the city is getting ready to welcome the latest addition, the Turkish Flavor Museum in Maslak.

The museum will cover a 6,000-square-meter (64,500-square-foot) area and will feature not only the best examples of Turkish and Anatolian cuisine, but also traditional songs, paintings and photographs.

With a seating capacity of 1,800 people and features such as culinary workshops and street food stalls, the museum will encourage visitors to experience traditional cuisines as well as more modern food trends. From stuffed meatballs to roasted chestnuts, künefe, and dried fruits and nuts, the museum aims to showcase the wide variety of flavors Turkey has to offer while promoting Turkish gastronomy to the world.
