Ottoman cuisine on tour in Hungary

Ottoman cuisine was introduced to Hungarians in Budapest on Sunday at an event hosted by Agnes Toth, a Hungarian food blogger whose main focus is Ottoman food and its heritage in the Balkans. Many people attended the event, which took place at Pancs, the famous bazaar in Budapest.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA) at the event, Toth said: "Every week, a chef introduces a specific would cuisine to Hungarians at Pancs. It is important to hold this event in the most famous organic food bazaar in Budapest since we drew enormous interest to Ottoman cuisine."

Toth, who is also the director of Nar Gourmet, is organizing a number of events, including gastro workshops and Turkish breakfast events, throughout this month in Hungary to offer Turkish food to Hungarians. Toth and Turkish chefs will serve eight different Turkish meals at the most recognized vegetarian restaurant in Hungary. Toth said the restaurants that offer Turkish food in Hungary mostly serve fast food and she is trying to make traditional Turkish cuisine a hit in the country.
