Let them eat bread: Anatolia bread culture focus of festival

Who doesn't love the smell of freshly baked bread? To bring bread bakers and patisserie lovers together, the 2nd International Bread Festival will be held in Ankara's CerModern between Oct. 12 and 14.

In the Anatolian lands, which has a long tradition of bread baking, the festival aims to focus on the different bread cultures and uses of wheat, prevalent in the region for centuries.

During the festival, different types of bread baked all over Turkey will be put on display for tasting. Different bread baking techniques will also be demonstrated.

This year's festival will also bring local bread under the spotlight, aiming to turn them into international brands. Apart from unique Turkey, the festival will also host countries from around the world, including Morocco, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Iraq, Venezuela, Thailand and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The participants will also have a chance to taste different kinds of breads, learn tips from bakers, join workshops and attend panel sessions with experts and academics.
