Eiffel glows red and white to honour Istanbul dead

The Eiffel Tower lighted up in red and white, the colours of the Turkish flag, Thursday in homage to the 42 people killed in the attack on Istanbul's airport. The gesture underscored "the steadfast support of the city of Paris for the victims, their loved ones and all of the Turkish people," first deputy mayor Bruno Julliard told reporters.Shortly after the attack on Tuesday, Mayor Anne Hildalgo said that "this new terrorist attack, like all those before it, targeted humanity itself through the innocent lives that it destroyed."
