The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced on Sunday the resignation of all members of all its affiliate boards amidst a probe launched against the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ) following the bloody coup attempt on July 15.

A statement released by the TFF said that all 11 boards have resigned in order to facilitate the security check launched by security forces.

The statement added all information regarding the board members and staff working for the federation has been shared with related state institutions.

In addition to the coup plot and corruption cases launched by its members in the police and judiciary against the military and the government, FETÖ-linked prosecutors were known for their involvement with the match fixing probe targeting Istanbul clubs Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş in 2011.

Several high profile athletes, including national football team players, are known for their support for shadowy Gülen movement.
