While Turkish powerhouses Beşiktaş are defending their title successfully this season, their former stars have let down their new clubs. After parting ways with Beşiktaş, Mario Gomez signed with Wolfsburg and Jose Sosa with Milan. However as of the fifth week of their new leagues, neither Gomez nor Sosa has scored yet, although both of them played 90 minutes in three matches. Sosa, who was signed for 7.5 million euros ahead of the season, has played three matches and neither scored or made an assist. Gomez, who was top scorer in Turkey last year with 26 goals, also could not find the net.Neither Gomez nor Sosa chose to stay with Beşiktaş despite their amazing performances. Gomez's new club Wolfsburg were thrashed last week by Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund romped to another big win with a 5-1 victory at VfL Wolfsburg to provisionally top the German Bundesliga. Having hammered both Legia Warsaw and Darmstadt 6-0 in their previous matches, Thomas Tuchel's Dortmund handed out another drubbing with Gonzalo Castro setting up two of their goals.The thrashing left Dortmund top on goals scored, with nine points from a possible 12, but they will lose the lead on Wednesday when Bayern Munich host Hertha Berlin.The only teams still with 100 percent records meet at Munich's Allianz Arena as Hertha chase their first league win in Bavaria since 1977. New coach Vincenzo Montella's side are gaining momentum and move up to third on nine points after a strong showing to see off Lazio, who are seventh on seven."The solid spirit we've had for the last two matches is what we need going forward," Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo told Mediaset Premium.
