President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has slammed the Galatasaray Sports Club after it claimed to have expelled two of its former players' over payment issues, rather than specifying on their known ties to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ). In an interview with local news station "Habertürk" on Monday, Erdoğan said, the team's expulsion notice should have mentioned the ex-players Hakan Şükür and Arif Erdem's close links to FETÖ."I find the Galatasaray administration's decision to link them to overdue club payments underwhelming," Erdoğan said.The president said, the club could have gathered information on Şükür and Erdem from the trial court, where the duo faces terror charges, and urged the football club to cite the actual reasons for their expulsion.Galatasaray management, in an extraordinary meeting on Sunday, voted to revoke the memberships of Hakan Şükür and Arif Erdem.
