Turkish teams earn 36M euros in UEFA competitions


Teams who represented Turkey in European competitions in 2016-17 season earned 36 million euros while Beşiktaş lead the money league as well as the domestic football league.

Although Beşiktaş were eliminated by Lyon on Thursday in a dramatic penalty shoot-outs, they surpassed the other Turkish teams in terms of revenue, earning 16,200,000 euros in the Champions League and 4,350,000 euros in the UEFA Europa League totalling 20,550,000 euros.

Fenerbahçe earned 4,507,000 euros while Osmanlıspor got 7 million euros, Atiker Konyaspor 3,387,000 euros and Medipol Başakşehir 480,000 euros. A total of more than 1.3 billion euros will be shared among the clubs in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League.
