Başakşehir look to bounce back against Beşiktaş

After staying seven points behind leaders Beşiktaş, second-placed Medipol Başakşehir have their last chance to continue their title challenge when they host Beşiktaş this Sunday at the Fatih Terim Stadium. If they win, minnows Medipol Başakşehir will close the point gap on Beşiktaş to four points. If Beşiktaş win, they will move 11 points clear with them almost guaranteeing their second consecutive title.

Medipol Başakşehir may still gain a historic milestone statistic-wise. If they beat Beşiktaş, they will be the second team to beat all five title-holding teams in the Super League in the same season (Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, Bursaspor, Trabzonspor). Previously only one team has achieved this success: Kasımpaşa. Medipol Başakşehir lost only one in five matches against the title-holders teams. They have won seven matches, lost one and drew two.Meanwhile, Beşiktaş star Anderson Talisca continues to be linked with a summer transfer. Monaco are the latest club to have joined the race for the the Brazilian attacking midfielder.

French football magazine France Football claim that the Ligue 1 giants are plotting a move for Talisca. Turkish media reported that Monaco are in an advantageous position to hijack Manchester United's efforts to sign Talisca. He is currently on loan at Beşiktaş, the reigning Turkish champions have the option to extend his temporary stay but Benfica have set a $27 million release clause. Talisca has been also on Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho's radar ever since he was manager of Chelsea.
