Following a shock defeat at the hands FK Vardar last week, Turkish giants Fenerbahçe will look to overturn a 2-0 deficit as they host the Macedonian minnows in their UEFA Europa League playoff second leg match in Kadıköy tonight.It will be an uphill task for Fenerbahçe who will have to score at least three to stay in contention, all the while trying not to concede. The Yellow Canaries, coming off a disappointing 2016-2017 season, made a number of big-name signings this summer. The club welcomed 33-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper Carlos Idriss Kameni, Monaco's breakout Moroccan star Nabil Dirar, Lyon's Mathieu Valbuena and Chilean footballer Mauricio Isla.Fenerbahçe's rough patch, however, looks far from over as they only managed two draws in two weeks in the Super league, and lost 2-0 to Vardar, in a serious blow to their UEFA Europa League hopes. Earlier, the Istanbul club got rid of Austria's Sturm Graz 3-2 on aggregate in the third qualifying round. Fenerbahçe's Josef de Souza, who was shown a red card in the first leg against Vardar, will miss tonight's key matchup.
