Galatasaray maintains Super League lead
Subbed in the 64th minute, Sofiane Feghouli scored his first goal in the league.


A resilient Galatasaray managed to bag three more points as they beat Bursaspor 2-1 in the Spor Toto Super League Sunday. With 16 points in six matches, the Lions maintained their lead in the league.

Galatasaray were only helped by archrivals Fenerbahçe who beat their closest contender for the top spot Beşiktaş 2-1 Saturday. Beşiktaş now have 13 points, same as league newcomers Göztepe.

Fenerbahçe, with the 2-1 win, took their points tally to 11 after six matches and are currently placed fourth. As for the game, Bursaspor, in front of their fans, started the match strongly and found the opening goal against the league leaders in the 10th minute, when Congolese midfielder Dzon Delarge finished in front of Galatasaray's six-yard box.

There were no more goals in the first half, although Galatasaray missed some chances. The second half, however, proved to be a different story for the undefeated Lions. Subbed in the 64th minute, Sofiane Feghouli's first shot in the league was a banger as Galatasaray equalized the score in the 75th minute. Constantly attacking to take the lead, Galatasaray finally saw their wishes come true in the 85th minute, when in-form midfielder Tolga Ciğerci netted his fifth goal of the season, giving his team the lead and the eventual win.
