FIFA on Thursday imposed a transfer ban on Super League side Trabzonspor.

The Turkish club was punished after it underpaid 250,000 euros ($310,500) to Slovakia's Trencin for midfielder Matus Bero.

The ban will be effective during the 2018 summer transfer window.

Trabzonspor said the club will appeal the decision in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

22-year-old Bero moved to Trabzonspor in 2016 for a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros ($3.1 million).
