Researchers at the University of California may have found a way to treat acne, which is regarded as the most common skin amongst people.

According to an article by Allure magazine, scientists have found an antibody to a toxic protein released by P. acnes bacteria, which can block the way of P. acnes bacteria without killing it, because it has some benefits.

"The next step is testing it on patients in clinical trials," the project's lead researcher Eric C. Huang reportedly said and added that it could take a few years to complete.

Acne, which is estimated to affect over 660 million people throughout the world, is a long-term skin disease that occurs when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin.
