Visitors will be able to get access to written and visual information about historical structures in Turkish and English on their smartphones with a data matrix system as part of a new project in the central city of Niğde.Speaking to journalists, Provincial Assistant Manager of Culture and Tourism Selçuk Demirtaş said they are preparing the project with the aim of providing access to information about cultural structures in the city online and promoting them in the most effective way.Demirtaş emphasized that the new application will contribute to the effective promotion of cultural structures and enable local and foreign tourists to reach information about the 95 cultural heritage sites in the city, including mosques, churches, bazaars, hamams and fountains. "Thanks to the data matrix system, which will be embedded into these structures, visitors will be able to reach all written and visual information about them in English and Turkish on their smartphones. We are planning to add more languages to the system," Demirtaş said.Demirtaş also added that they are planning to apply this system to all historical structures in the city. "We will first start with historical structures in the city center. By the end of June, we will have installed this system on all our historical and cultural structures. Thanks to the new system, visitors will not need someone to give information about a specific building, instead, they will just need to scan the data matrix with their smartphones to reach all the information about the building," he said.Demirtaş said the data matrix system will be set up to the entrance of the historical structures on a gilded plate in a way that they will not be affected by sun or rain.
