US teen flees mother to meet Iraqi boyfriend

Turkish police located a 15-year-old U.S. citizen who went missing while on vacation with her mother in Albania. The girl, identified by her initials C.T.K., from Chicago, was found with her boyfriend, a 19-year-old Iraqi refugee, in Samsun in northern Turkey. The girl sneaked away from the hotel where she was staying in Tirana, Albania, with her mother and boarded a plane to Turkey on Thursday to meet the young Iraqi, identified as M.A., whom she had met online. The worried mother found out that her daughter tagged herself on social media in Turkey and contacted the U.S. Embassy in Turkey. Embassy officials contacted Turkish police who located the girl in Atakum, a district in Samsun in the Black Sea region. The mother flew to Turkey after police found the couple at the young Iraqi man's home. The Iraqi teenager was detained, but the young girl's mother did not file a complaint. A prosecutor ordered the Iraqi's release while C.T.K. and her mother flew back to the U.S.
