Turkish Police have detained 11 suspects in connection with the outlawed-PKK's youth movement group (YDG-H) in operations carried out in three cities throughout Turkey on Tuesday.According to the reports, the operations, initiated by counter-terrorism units, were carried out in Istanbul, Izmir and Muş provinces after the police were informed that the group was planning to launch violent protests.One suspect was detained in Istanbul, another one in Izmir and nine others were detained in southeastern Muş province. Officers also seized numerous documents used for propaganda by the organization in raids.Recently, police have seized three pump rifles and a shotgun in an operation to a cafe located in Istanbul's Okmeydanı district. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union. Turkey was long plagued by the PKK's bloody campaign of terror for Kurdish self-rule in the southeast and killed tens of thousands of people over three decades.
